You might remember her from RTE 2s- groundbreaking and award-winning docu-drama Connected, from playing one of many Irish festivals or possibly as a prominent activist for sex workers rights –  Lady Grew is set to launch her brand new track “Sixes” at The Underground this June 8th.

Her candour about her experience in the sex industry shocked the nation and she was catapulted onto the front lines of sex workers’ fight for their rights in Ireland. Lady Grew takes inspiration for her lyrics from experience within the sex industry as well as bringing attention to gay rights.

Her 2016 track “Stonewall” was inspired by the Stonewall riots of 1969 and directed attention to gay equality. Her new track “Sixes” is sultry yet catchy hip-hop reggae track and will be launching in The Underground venue, Dame street June 8th.

Kate McGrew moved from New York City to Cork City in 2008, quickly gaining notoriety as Lady Grew: writing and performing vocals for dancehall reggae/hip-hop tunes, releasing EPs, appearing on vinyl with Dublin labels Ghetto Quietly and !kaboogie, and making music videos. She’s performed in clubs and at festivals all over Ireland, the UK, Germany, Australia, and America. Her two comedy musicals “Sweet Pang!” and “Hooker P.I.” – which combine her skills of acting, singing, clowning, rapping, and pole-dance – sold out shows and won 4-star ratings at Edinburgh Fringe Fest and two awards at the San Diego International Fringe Fest.

Lady Grew will be performing her brand new track “Sixes” June 8th with Support for Minnie Marley and Adrain Lenz.

Minnie Marley hails from Cork and is an International Singer/Songwriter & Performer of Alternative Soul, RnB, Jazz, hip-hop, Trap, Dancehall, Reggae, Afro-beat, House & Dance, she is a talented performer.

Adrain Lenz moved to Ireland in 2011 form Grenada. In 2012, Adrian joined forces with London based record Label “Blank Mind”, Releasing the remix of “Cover Me”. 2017 Adrian Lenz with his own unique identity as a singer, songwriter and Lyricist has released his multi-genre Single and Video “Play my Love”,
He received an award as Best Male Artist at the Irellywood Recognition Award 2017, Dublin.

June 8th is set to be a great night with fantastic performers from 8 pm at The Underground. Tickets only €10 and can be got on Eventbrite on Lady Grew Live!

Lady Grew is also appearing for Repeal the 8th hosted by Jam Forest “Tipperary for Yes” Nenagh May 18th and a host of festivals yet to be announced.
