The Workman’s Club – The New Original

the_workmans_club_dublin_28659

The Workmans Club are only delirra to announce a brand new night of brand new music in their Vintage Room. Get into their cosy retro gaff upstairs and prepare to check out some very seriously deadly music! The New Original Club is a brand new music showcase night bringing you live intimate performances from up and coming bands and solo artists.

This is a FREE FREE FREE event and will take place every second Tuesday. All you gotta do is show up, They’ll take care of the rest. The first night kicks off on Tuesday, 2 May at 8 bells. This inaugural gig will feature some awesome bands.

First up, we’ve got ZAR! This guy is an incredible singer and guitar player. Check out his great new cover of Ben Howard’s Old Pine right here to get a taste of what to expect.

We’ve also got GRIFF, the frontman from hard-rocking trio New Secret Weapon coming along to perform for you!

Fancy some off-beat melodic rock/funk performed through unorthodox guitar phrasing, soaring vocals, metronomic drums and thunderous low-end with sultry saxophone? ‘Course ya do. Us too, so we’re bringing you CHASE NOVA & THE EVER CHANGING BANDNAME

Finally, CARRON are the cherry on top! They’re an indie-folk duo from Dublin, led by the sisters Meabh and Mella Carron. These siblings are unique in their style of singing and songwriting, attempting to capture far more than just melody or rhyme. Through the frequent use of unison vocals, they create a sense of one shared voice between them reinforced by a strong familial bond, while singing in harmony highlights their differences. Their EP ‘Roots’ was released last year, and they’re working on a brand new LP for release imminently.

So there you have it. Brilliant brand new music in the comfy surrounds of our Vintage Room, the second Tuesday of every month. Did we mention it’s FREE?
