Cork city is teaming with entertainment and festivals alike. Just announced is Cork Sound Fair, music and arts festival has been confirmed for early 2018. Cork is set to host a busy year ahead with other annual festivals soon to be announced.

LADY GREW @ TOWNLANDS CARNIVAL

This year Townlands Carnival will be hosting an exciting array of Irish and overseas artists including America’s glorious export and Irish adopted, lyrical boss Lady Grew.

Lady Grew will be playing on Saturday in  Townlands Carnival this July 21st – 23rd in Macroom Co. Cork. Kate, AKA Lady Grew, never fails to tease and torque the audience with high energy, on point delivery and supreme stage presence.

BARE in the Woods 2017 has announced more block rockin’ beats for this summer’s rapidly expanding festival at Garryhinch Woods inPortarlington on June 9 – 11. Joining headliners House of Pain and Helmet is Canadian electro-pop sensation Kiesza, who’s hit ‘Hideaway’ has clocked up an impressive 350 million views on YouTube. The BARE17 Dance Arena line up has also been revealed with acts of the calibre of Dan ShakeCinema, Damiano Von Eckert, Phare, Mr Beatnik and Josh McGowan leading the way.

Irish indie stalwarts HamsandwicH join a sensational and diverse bill at BARE 17, that already features Mike Skinner & Murkage present Tonga, UK hip hop/grime artist Akala, Danish experimental pop trio WhoMadeWhoRubberbandits,  Right Said FredAlvarez KingsJon Stevens (INXS)The Frank & Walters and RSAG. A Spoken Word Stage brimming with talent will host Dublin Slam Poet Champion Jon Cummins, Ri Ra, David Jackson, Cormac Lally, Stuart Wilde, Tempermental Missy Elayneous and more, while the Comedy Stage will be headlined by Andrew Maxwell and Karl Spain.
With a limited amount of Tier Two tickets still on sale, BARE in the Woods is bolstered by a fantastic Irish bill that has been programmed with the help of a new partnership with Mobstar. New names announced today include Brave GiantSuper Silly, Katie Laffin, Pranks, Katie Cassidy and Emma Jai.

BARE in the Woods’ bespoke woodland site features a party island on a lake, chill out spots hidden amongst the trees and a full sized Crannog hosting the Spoken Word Stage.

If you go down to the woods  . . . BARE in the Woods 2016 is only two weeks away and promises to kick off the Irish festival season in style. Already confirmed for their only Irish festival appearance of the summer are New York hip hop legends, The Sugarhill Gang – and they will now be joined by one of the most innovative dance producers of the last few years Paul Woolford and motley Irish comedy crew The Hardy Bucks

Paul Woolford headlines an expanded Dance line-up this year to incorporate two of the most amazing stages on the Irish festival scene, The Island and The Crannog. These will host some of the UK and Ireland top DJs and collectives, featuring Made by PeteDJ MEKDess & Connor CMix & FairbanksDean Heavy & Shane BerneyCinema (DJ SET)Maebh O’ ConnorDistrict Magazine DJsSean SavageJosh Mc GowanJesse JacksonStephen Courtney and Kev Kinsella.

Also announced today is BARE of the Rhyme – a showcase of the country’s best talents in poetry, comedy and spoken word taking place in The Crannog, and guerrilla performances around the festival site, with Lady GrewAidan MurphyDavid HynesRichard BrennanDavid MallaghanMC Cormac Lally and special guests Wasps Vs Humans. Also along the spoken word and comedy lines, The Word of Breda is a one-woman tour de force with Breda Larkin and Fergus Costello brings his Tell Me Lies Horse show to BARE in the Woods, while Tony Clayton Lea’s Culture Vultures makes its first appearance at the festival.

Already announced for the growing boutique festival are Natty Wailer, The Pale, King Kong Company, Raglans, Fangclub, Fox Jaw, Jupe, Dah Jevu, Pretty Beast, Slow Motion Heroes, Everything Shook, My Tribe Your Tribe, Suan, Mongrel State, Made by Pete, CPNHGN, Megacone, Laurie Shaw, Damsel, Whiskey Dick, Gemma Bradley, Peter Njihia and Cua.

BARE in the Woods’ ambition is to create one of the best boutique festival sites in Europe and bring an event that has something different to offer the festival season in Ireland. The BARE festival site compliments its natural surroundings using timber sourced from the site itself to build some very creative stages and structures. It is also one of the best priced festivals in Ireland with camping tickets for the 24-hour event priced at only €40 for a Day Ticket and €50 with camping.

This is will be the third BARE in the Woods festival – the previous two were sell outs – and it was the winner of an Irish Festival Award this year for ‘Best One Day Festival’ 80% of timber used on the site has come from storm damaged trees and has been milled on the site bythe BARE crew. The site itself is nestled beside the River Barrow and overlooked by the Slieve Bloom mountains and features a traditional Irish Crannog and a lake with a party island that will run late in to the night. Stage times for BARE in the Woods will be announced shortly.

BARE in the Woods is located only 50 minutes from Dublin and is accessible via motorway networks to all major Irish cities in under two hours. The site is located close to Portarlington railway station and serviced by Dublin Coach, with a 24-hour service to Dublin, Limerick and Cork.
