Sounds and inspirations from 1980-1994.

 

Cinema – Floating

Electronic artist ‘Cinema’, is the brain child of Ireland based Peter Fleming.

 

Le Boom – What we do

LE BOOM’s late-night shows are a frenzy of glass-bottle beats, layered loops.

 

Le Galaxy – Pleasure

Close your eyes. It’s 2am. The ground is shaking underfoot and your fingers are pulled upwards by some invisible but very audible force. The force of a TUNE.

Since their debut album, Le Galaxie have replicated this scene across clubs and venues, bars and fields, tents and countries, cities and towns, parties and raves.

 

Columbia Mills – Battles

Columbia Mills are an Indietronica band based in Dublin, Ireland.

 

Liza Flume – Sheets

Raw, quirky and a little off-kilter Liza Flume’s unique presence draws you in.

 

Kate Grom – Heroin

Kate’s artistic trajectory grew organically from a series of almost random epiphanies.

 

Fontaines – Hurricane Laughter

Hurricane Laughter which is an insistent and repetitive song built on a Mark E Smith style spoken vocal and a band who are locked into a rock n roll groove.

 

Chasing Abbey – That Good Thing

Chasing Abbey bring a unique pop and hip-hop style to the fore.

 

Darling – Sail Away

Frankenstein Bolts – Anatomic Major

Live their sound is breezy and melodic with Cullens vocals sitting nicely amongst Comerfords guitar soundscapes.

Myles Manley in The Roundy

Sligo’s prince of DIY pop Myles Manley will round off a riotous touring year with a December date down south. Taking place in Plugd Records’ new home upstairs in The Roundy, Sunday 17th December will see Manley joined by longstanding collaborator Christopher Barry and Cork’s very own Solamh Kelly (Trumpets of Jericho). Special guests on the night will be U.K. post-punk percussionists Katharine Eira Brown and Theresa Wrigley aka Rattle. Tickets on sale now. Indiependence Festival Cork

One of the first festival announcements for Cork this summer. Indiependence festival is giving us a taste of who will be rocking Cork summer 2018.

Some of Ireland’s biggest and best live acts join an initial announcement that features some new faces for INDIE and some old friends. Walking on Cars have cemented their place as one of this country’s most successful bands since playing the Beer Hall at INDIE14. They head up a strong Irish contingent that already features Le GalaxieKing Kong Company, HamsandwicH, The Blizzards, Le Boom, Wild Youth and 1000 Beasts.

The UK’s thriving indie scene has been raided and welcomes some new names to INDIE18 that include Jake Bugg, Mercury Prize nominees Everything Everything, Brit Pop legends Cast and one of the UK’s hottest rising stars, Tom Grennan.

Meanwhile, INDIE18 will feature artists with strong Ministry of Sound ties with debuts from Sigala and Mylo. Mylo has remixed tracks from Scissors Sisters, Amy Winehouse, The Killers and The Knife to name a few in recent times while Sigala’s track ‘Easy Love’ hit Number 1 in the UK singles chart and has amassed over 300m views on YouTube alongside ‘Sweet Lovin’’.

Cork city is teaming with entertainment and festivals alike. Just announced is Cork Sound Fair, music and arts festival has been confirmed for early 2018. Cork is set to host a busy year ahead with other annual festivals soon to be announced.
