Clonakilty is home to a well-known bar and music venue that has had a wide array of famous acts through its doors one notably, Noel Redding. The venue is De Barras which has been a live music venue for over Thirty years! That is saying something.

Every Wednesday De Barras holds a night called The Living Room Sessions. Corks own Aine Duffy, Gavin Moore and Kerryman  Ian O’Doherty played a fantastic set last night. With the wind and persistent mist outside, The Living Room Sessions offered a welcome musical sanctuary. Aine Dufy displays and proves her talent by multi-looping her guitar riffs and drum beat right in front of a busy yet silent setting. A soft emotionally intense performance by Ian who is set to release more material in the coming year. He has already released an EP in 2013. You can check out his music on soundcloud.

Gavin Moore kicked off the night with a song in Gaeilge followed on by a self-written song about love in his innocence before “the big bad world bit me”.

The Living Rooms Sessions in De Barras brings the best singer/songwriters to their venue every Wednesday night. It is well worth going along to. I am looking forward to much more during the summer. Check out their videos below.
